Inside Every Fig Is A Dead Wasp is set for release on October 29th via Keeled Scales, leaving plenty of time to become obsessed with this new tune. The title delivers imagery perfect for the spooky season too.
Much like we heard on ‘Shrug’, ‘Mold’ brings a lot of sweet indie-pop to the ears that wastes no time growing on you. Written about how LA is an “immersive Instagram advertisement”, it immediately grabs your attention and does not let go. Coming in strong with a dazzling display of psychedelic melodies and bright synths, it nails the neon cosmetic that lights up your screens but backs it up with depth that stops you scrolling past.
The instrumental is lush and full of vibrancy. Guitars bring riffs and melodies to the mix, while the drums come with percussion to add some real texture throughout. What I love most is how quickly the track shifts from a harmonic, soft sound into a grittier mood that tears through the airwaves. It is immense, and really keeps you on your toes. ‘Mold’ is a superb song. One that makes me proper excited for the new record.
