All Time Low took over the famous O2 Academy Brixton for two nights back-to-back on the 22nd and 23rd of September with support acts Meet Me at The Altar and The Maine.
Support acts Meet Me at The Altar and The Maine were received so well. I didn’t know very much about MMATA before the gig, but their opening set left me wanting to know more about the Florida based pop punk band. The Maine stepped on the stage to Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’ to an eruption of cheers and screams from the crowd. I had heard about The Maine from friends and was very excited to check them out. They certainly didn’t disappoint! The five-piece rock/alternative band from Arizona made their support slot count and I guarantee they left with a lot of newer fans and the people who knew them already definitely fell in love with them even more.
All Time Low then made their entrance after a short message from their A.I host Sharon, based on the theming of their latest album ‘Wake Up Sunshine’. They stepped onstage and went straight into ‘Some Kind of Disaster’ as the crowd went mental, being one of, if not the loudest crowd I’ve heard at a gig post pandemic.
I remember so vividly being in that exact venue back in March 2014 watching All Time Low on their tour after the release of ‘Don’t Panic’ and I loved watching them back then, but it was clear that they were even better now than before. They performed tracks from well loved albums ‘So Wrong, It’s Right’ and ‘Nothing Personal’ right up to their latest album.
The venue was packed out wall to wall with fans screaming the words to song after song and it’s clear that the love for this band will never be a thing of the past.
