The power of the internet and social media can be a good and bad thing as we know. For me, the positives are interaction with like-minded people who share the same love of music. That same love and taste in music caused a friend to recommend a song called “Tokyo” to me by “this band from Birmingham you might like”. On first listen to the intro and rest of the track I was instantly a fan.
On Friday 8 October The Clause released their latest track “Cruella” and it’s an absolute stomper. It has a retro rock vibe which gives you an immediate feel of the some of the glam rock classics of the 70s. A live favourite which has subsequently brought this banger to an official release, it’s a tale of a woman who is charge of everything and everyone.
Front Man “Pearce Macca” sings of her being “as rare as a million dollar bill” and “always going out of her way to get a rave on”. “There’s nobody like my Cruella De Vil” – A female powerhouse who will always have you under her spell. It’s a monster of a track.
After the beauty of “Where Are You Now?” and “Madchester” feel of “In My Element” this new one shows yet another side to this versatile band. I was fortunate enough to catch the guys in December 2019 in Manchester and I hope I’ll see them again soon. These guys are the real deal. “Cruella” is available to stream now.
