Alex Lleo – ‘White Water’ / New Single

As he gears towards the release of his upcoming Morning Heights EP, Alex Lleo releases ‘White Water’. Written about his experiences in Brooklyn, the new single comes with openness and welcomes you with arms wide, providing space to reflect and grow.

In Alex’s own words: “I’ve never felt more like an artist, than when I was in Brooklyn. I’d never been anywhere that made me feel like I could do anything, and not be judged at the same time. I felt like I could re-invent myself a hundred times over If I wanted too. I wanted that feeling of ultimate freedom and self-expression across this song and entire EP.”

With such a strong embrace of doing things for yourself and forgetting about others, it’s so easy to get lost within ‘White Water’. Its soft, acoustic melodies lay down the roots to a song that sounds right at home in the wilderness. Alex’s vocals gently ride alongside the rhythm, leading the way for additional instruments to enter. The stark beat of percussion and guitars that seemingly wander into view and choose to stick around to contribute a melody or two. Before you know it, the song that started so subtle has bloomed into a wondrous forest of noise. It’s immersive, dramatic, and soft in its delivery. I can’t help but listen to it over and over.

‘White Water’ is a wonderful song and has continued to ramp up the anticipation for Morning Heights. As all four singles have shown so far, the EP is definitely going to be a special listen. I cannot wait to hear it.

You can grab a pre-order of a limited edition 10” lathe cut vinyl of Morning Heights here.
