Ten Eighty Trees release their new single ‘Fear of Falling’. The trio from the North-East, Newcastle upon Tyne, to be precise, excites us with a rich and heavy yet super-infectious rock song.
Ten Eighty Trees are known for their vibrant and rocky sound. And this song clearly proves that. It’s a bold sound revolt. ‘Fear of Falling’ is a catchy singalong song that’s bursting into your ears in the most positive way. The intro already sets the scene for the song. A bit dramatic, rich of sound, and you’re captured immediately. Heavy drums, pulsating bass, and rich guitar riffs roar at us. The vibrant vocals of lead singer Nathan get through every fibre of the body.
It feels like someone turned on the wind machine and you’re standing right in front of it. The punchy sound blows you away.
“The fear of falling in my sleep” is palpable throughout the song. The line “It feels just like I’m punching in my dreams” is particularly tangible in the guitar solo with the powerful drums and throbbing bass in the background. It seems like the beat of the drums symbolises the punching.
Ten Eighty Trees are kings of the riff. But they also prove to be great songwriters. Their sound is volatile, loud and rough, completely unpredictable. You’ll be buzzing from this for days. Their lyrics are meaningful, heartfelt, and honest, almost poetic. Feelings and emotions, you’ll be able to relate to.
Ten Eighty Trees are maximalists in rock and ‘Fear of Falling’ is a great rock force. It’s powerful and energetic. We cannot wait to hear more from them or see them setting this energy live.
