Ronboy is celebrating the release of debut album Pity to Love on vinyl with the release of ‘Oceans of Emotions’ as a new single. Personally, I have a fear of the ocean and reckon one filled with emotions would be hellish. Unless that emotion was pizza, then it’d probably be pretty cool. What is worthy of a dive, however, is this new song.
Feeling like a throwback to the 80s, ‘Oceans of Emotions’ floods the airwaves with wave after wave after sea-related word of noise. Sounding fuzzy and distorted in its embrace of synths, it dominates the ears with its gritty sound. Julia’s vocals cut through the instrumental with a simple hook and melodies that also swirl around the brain, making the chorus hit hard with serious impact. It is equal parts heavy and catchy all at once.
It’s a thrill of a listen and one that rejuvenates the urge to listen to Pity to Love again. ‘Oceans of Emotions’ disrupts everything you’re doing and doesn’t care one bit about it. It is great.
