After an already busy 2021 for The Riot Vans, already releasing ‘Scotrail’s Stealing All My Money’, the band are straight back with another in the form of ‘Scary Faces’.
Much like the previous track it really is all killer, no filler. With the song just lasting only 2.30, the band cramp-pack all the energy and chaos into a small timeframe to create something truly manic.
The feel of the song has a similar vibe to ‘Echoes’, a track released by The Raptures and was used for Misfits the TV show. The riff is intoxicating (in a good way), as it blares out and you could envisage multiple crowds losing their minds to the track.
If you dig The Libertines’ style and approach to tracks, then this is one for you. There’s that same attitude on there, but with much tidier vocals however, which the lead singer does an amazing job of matching the energy and pace delivered instrumentally.
As I’ve mentioned for most tracks I’ve covered this year. I’m so excited for live shows to return as we’re going to be blessed with multiple gems as they’re played live for the first time – and this is one of those tracks.
