Broken Dreams Club – ‘You Can’t Delete Me’ / New Single

After a big obsession with Keanu Reeves and a year’s absence, Broken Dreams Club returns with ‘You Can’t Delete Me’. Amy Bevan’s first single since the wonderfully titled Being Alive Is A Fucking Nightmare last year. An EP that certainly packed a punch or two. Paired with a music video that shows a ghost’s tormenting ways, it really shows just how nightmarish being alive can be.

I’d hate to be followed by a ghost. Especially if they followed me into the bathroom or watched me sleep. Unless they’re there to pop the kettle on before I head into the kitchen, I don’t want them around.

Written as an indie ‘I Will Survive’, Amy Bevan’s latest hit is for those who were made to feel unimportant. Much like its inspiration, its chorus is an invitation to sing along as loud as possible and throw as many middle fingers as you can at the faces of those people who said you don’t matter. It’s thunderous drums and steadily building guitars give it all the power it needs to become a proper anthem, and it succeeds in being something that’s empowering and bold.

If the ghost only follows dickheads, then that’s cool with me. ‘You Can’t Delete Me’ is a charming listen that gets its point across and reintroduces Broken Dreams Club back into our ears before the year ends. Hopefully we can be visited by more than just the Ghost of broken dreams next time.
