After already releasing ‘Death of the Social’ earlier this year, Cucamaras are back with their brand new track ‘Safe Bet’ – and it’s a whirlwind.
Plastered with reverb and intense drums, you can hear that Cucamaras have certainly transitioned into a much more post-punk vibe. After hearing them in an interview last year, the band said they felt they could do much more with that sound, and this is what they were talking about.
The exhilarating guitars are just the tip of the iceberg for the song, as it’s laced with intense vocals, quickening drums and thick bass that would kick you out of bed.
The tunnel of noise they create will be perfect for live shows, something I hope to see sooner rather than later, as the band continue to develop this new sound. The short life-span of the song is perfect, as if it burnt too bright so it had to leave us too soon.
Fortunately for us, we have a play button so we can just go ahead and hit that again and drive straight on through the tunnel as many times as we like.
It’s in and out, and so effective. Can’t wait to hear more from the Cucamara’s, but for the meantime, this will fill the gap!
