Last Relapse have released their comeback single – ‘Everyone Dances Outside of Their Bodies’. The Atlanta band tore through the states for years before announcing an extended hiatus that lasted thirteen years. Now reunited, the band are back with a renewed sense of urgency. All of which is highlighted on this new single.
Blending together elements of psych-rock with Indie and Shoegaze, ‘Everyone Dances…’ details the duality of one’s self, and the struggle that comes with battling who somebody is against who they want to be. This loaded topic moves freely inside this encompassing sound, as the vocals breathe emotion into the atmosphere. Made up of massive guitars and soaring melodies, it teeters on the edge of being cinematic.
It makes for a fantastic listen. One that reintroduces Last Relapse to the hardcore, but firmly puts them in the spotlight for the new audience too. With news of an EP arriving in November, the band are certainly done with staying quiet. What a return this is.
