‘Best Days’ signals a bright future for The Clockworks // REVIEW

Hailing from Galway, The Clockworks are an indie force to be reckoned with. After relocating to London in pursuit of success, the band have built an ever-growing fanbase thanks to their gritty sound and electrifying live shows. If that wasn’t impressive enough, they recorded their debut album, Exit Strategy, at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Released in 2023, it stands as a bold and confident statement of who they are.

The Irish four-piece are currently tearing across Europe on tour with Johnny Marr. Just before the run kicked off in the Netherlands, they dropped their latest single, ‘Best Days‘ – a release that’s been met with huge enthusiasm. A standout moment in their live set, the track fuses multiple genres but leans heavily into the band’s post-punk roots.

While many bands excel in either their instrumentation or their lyricism, The Clockworks manage both with ease. Their searing guitars and pounding drums collide perfectly with lyrics that channel raw emotion, tension, and the chaos of modern life – a combination that hits hard and lingers long after the final note.

Much like ‘Best Days’ itself, The Clockworks’ journey feels like a steady build – one that grows in power, confidence, and momentum with every release. If their latest work is anything to go by, this is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to hear just how high their sound – and their story – will climb next.
