Bandit – ‘Goonies (I Only Tolerate You)’ / New Single

Bandit deliver another indie-rock banger

There is no shortage of brilliant new music coming out of Liverpool at the moment, and Bandit are one of the many exciting young bands emerging from the city who continue to grow and evolve with each release.

This week the quartet have brought us another banger titled ‘Goonies (I Only Tolerate You)’. Sonically it delivers Arctic Monkeys vibes; infused with relentless energy, thrashing guitars and thunderous drums at breakneck speed. It’s a little heavier and darker than previous releases which gives it that extra edge, and it has a catchy chorus that you can easily imagine filling the dancefloor at one the lads live shows!

Lyrically the track gives me 2000’s indie nostalgia as Nat sings about smoking cigarettes and listening to The Vaccines. The lyrics are memorable and exude plenty of personality, equally clever and romantic.

Nat Waters (vocals) commented: Goonies is an anthemic ‘you and me against the world’ type song about summer nights and a girl I met at a festival. I didn’t think that holiday romances were a thing and that they existed, apart from in those films like Grease, it’s usually just Greek tragedies for me.”

Why not catch Bandit on one of their live dates later on this year, and don’t forget to follow them on all the socials below!
