Bisou Noir are a London based alternative rock band. They’ve recently released their latest single ‘If I Lose’ which dropped on the 12th of January.
With a soft almost movie magical feel, ‘If I Lose’ begins with what feels like a very indie rock opening. As the drums join the guitar, we get a better feel for the song. It doesn’t take long for the vocals to join too, working in harmony with a calming feel. The song moves along far softer than some of Bisou Noirs other work before some more layers creating a slightly heavier sound. With genuinely pretty lyrics I’m not exaggerating when I say this song had me staring at a wall. Full of the same devotion as a love song with an existential twist this song is full of emotion. Finally, Bisou Noir grace us with a wonderful guitar and vocal solo. “If I lose is ballad that came through some music Milo had written and we sat on for a while. Then during a very low period in my relationship and myself, I was inspired to put the words to it. It’s basically about hard times in life and questioning if when you are at your lowest weather the people you love with help you through it or not.”
It’s also worth mentioning that ‘If I Lose’ was released with previously released ‘Begging’, “a rock song inspired by bands like ‘You Me At Six’ and ‘Nothing But Thieves’ with undertones of bluesy guitar rock like Gary Clark Jr. it’s about life really, wanting more than we have and striving for the next thing.”
I highly recommend giving them a listen and checking out their socials, you can find Bisou Noir over on Instagram, Spotify, YouTube and more.
