Darling Darling release their new single, ‘Conversation Pit’ on 25th October via Honeymooner Records. A haze of psych melodies float atop rhythmic beats, making for an eclectic and soaring number, as the band progress in their journey to deliver the spectacle that they have always promised.
‘Conversation Pit’ invokes a warm energy; as if you’re in a retro 70s home, sinking into relaxation after a heady night out on the town. As the vocals come in over the cosmic flow of the song, it creates the buzz of late-night conversations that would otherwise be too exposing. You divulge the details of your innermost feelings in that moment, imperfections and all, and you feel even more at peace for doing so.
Just as the track projects the positives of releasing inner peace, it shows a fresh side to Darling Darling. It is a touch more personal than their earlier tracks, as if the band themselves are opening up and sounding all the bigger and better for it. Singing “there must be something new” rings true, as they embrace new inspirations and experiences, inviting the listener to revel in their epiphany of self-acceptance and the power of sharing this feeling with those around. ‘Conversation Pit’ encapsulates the euphoria of letting love in, pouring it out and allowing yourself to believe you deserve every bit of it.
Darling Darling support Ethan P Flynn at Heartbreakers, Southampton on 21st November.
