Disco Mary Release New Single “Small Quakes” // Review

Glasgow collective Disco Mary have dropped their latest single, ‘Small Quakes’, and it is here to ‘cut right through the noise’, standing out as a new, organic sound in Indie-Pop scenes.

A song that can only be described as groovy, and undeniably catchy, ‘Small Quakes’ explores the ripple effect that even the smallest of actions or moments can have on your life, shaking up everything you know. It does so with a soulful sound, made bigger by backing vocal support from the Boquhan Community Choir. With the gospel-like repetition of the track’s title throughout, it is destined to play on loop in your brain and, hopefully, your playlists. It certainly is the case in both aspects for me.

Starting off strong with a funky electronic beat, guitars are shortly introduced to the mix, utilising groovy riffs to create an, altogether, highly danceable tune.

With the group slated to play a hometown show later this February at The Record Factory in Glasgow, I can only imagine the vibes and energy this track will bring to the room. Disco Mary is sure to have everyone moving and grooving with this one.
