Drew Knight has been busy working with Bradley Denniston (Lego Movie Soundtrack) over the last while, releasing the first of three collaborative songs between the pair recently. ‘Stars‘ is indicative of what’s to come as we explore a sonic mesh of 80s infused synthwave on a modern pallet.
Drew and Bradley met over the internet during lockdown and immediately established a musical connection. The song was completed over webcam and is thus a prime example of modern day music in every sense.
Drew says about the song:
“Stars is about obsessing over a dream and realizing that the possibility of it becoming real is overwhelming and all-consuming.”
The writer of ‘Stars’ has only been releasing music since last year, which is testament to the quality of the track. Knight attempts to break down the barriers of what pop music means today, juxtaposing its natural accessibility with generational influences from one of the best decades in music, in the mold of The Weeknd, Kavinsky and The Midnight.
