Eskimo have released their latest track “Lowlights and Batteries,” starting off with a subtle opening it quickly builds up to an emphatic explosion of guitars to start. While the band draws influences from acts like The Beatles, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and The Killers, it’s hard not to notice the striking similarities to Sundara Karma, especially in the delivery of the vocals. The song evokes a sense of nostalgia for the golden era of sweet indie music.
One standout aspect of the track is the impeccable drum work. The fast-paced and urgent rhythm adds a layer of intensity and excitement to the song, propelling it forward. Additionally, the guitar solo towards the end of the track is a highlight, with its tasteful use of reverb and skilled execution.
Throughout “Lowlights and Batteries,” the vocals are spot on throughout, displaying a range and control that captivate anyone listening. This track would undoubtedly be a belter when performed live, with its big anthemic hooks driving the crowd into a frenzy.
Eskimo’s ability to create an atmosphere that harkens back to the golden age of indie music is commendable. While they incorporate influences from various renowned bands, they manage to carve out their own distinct sound with ease!
