Flores Blue – “Station”// New Single

Less than a month since her debut single, ‘Cold, Hard Running Ground’, Flores Blue has dropped yet another charming 90s inspired track. ‘Station’ comes as the second single from her upcoming EP, Entertain, and cements her as one to keep a close watch on.

Dreamlike airy vocals are juxtapoed by rich electric guitars on this track, giving her more depth than achieved by her voice alone. This, alongside her snippets of clever lyricism (switching out ‘rain’ for ‘pain’), will be appreciated by fans of the likes of Phoebe Bridgers and Beabadoobee.

The guitars remain a constant throughout the track, but toward the end of the second verse they start to grow louder. Paired with the long run on sentence that is the last lyric, this verse feels like running and struggling to catch your breath before the final symbol crashes and it comes to a stop ready for the chorus to come back in. A chorus which is, coincidentally, very catchy so it’s return at this part of this song is welcomed with open arms.

It’s only a short track, wrapped up in under 3 minutes, but is a promising beginning for Flores Blue, with hopefully more endearing tunes to come.
