Headshrinkers – ‘Plasticine’ / New Single

Headshrinkers return with the massive ‘Plasticine’. The fourth single from the West Midlands act is the latest to come from their upcoming EP Judgement Day. Written about the struggle of accepting how music is filtered through an algorithm-shaped straw, this is a frustrated stand against modern media consumption.

Loaded with moody guitars and thunderous drums, ‘Plasticine’ hits harder than an ice bucket challenge. Its gutsy performance tears through the airwaves, grabbing your attention and dragging you into its world. The vocals do a fantastic job at portraying the battle between hating on the internet, while also admitting its perks with music. Without it, I wouldn’t be writing this review, and you probably wouldn’t be reading this. It has its pros and cons but is definitely a grey topic of conversation.

From what we’ve heard of Judgement Day so far, it is looking to be a passionate and hard-hitting listen. Headshrinkers do a great job making their songs sound good, but also pack it with enough depth to keep you coming back. ‘Plasticine’ is the latest example of this, and surely enough to keep you away from TikTok or YouTube Shorts (at least for a little while).
