Lambrini Girls launch debut album Who Let The Dogs Out // New Dead Good Music

Lambrini Girls jump out of the gates to launch debut album, Who Let The Dogs Out. Getting ahead of the crowd to release something new for 2025, the Brighton duo’s first foray into LPs is gonna be hard to beat.

Taking various parts of society and thrusting them under the microscope, Who Let The Dogs Out is a dissection of all things wrong with multiple facets of the modern world. From lead single “Company Culture”‘s breakdown of toxic companies, it’s clear Lambrini Girls are more than willing to leave no stone unturned. Everything will be brutalised, and rightly so. With its scathing lyrics pointing out misogynistic cultures, it’s instrumental is equally pissed off and angry. Launching into riffs that swing as they batter the ears.

It sets the tone for what to expect from the record. Opening track “Bad Apple” rushes to the front with a booming introduction. Setting sirens with overblown bass and live drums to create a frantic sound that doesn’t let up. The focus is on the police, and Phoebe Lunny calls out the institutionalised racism and sexism in a brutal but observant take. It’s a heavy, excellent way to kick things off.

“Big Dick Energy” follows with another scathing review on lads who think they’re billy big bollocks, and strips them down to the micropeens they are. Highlighting the entitlement that “nice guys” have, and contrasting it against the fear women feel towards their “nice guy” actions. It’s the first of many tracks that are littered with jokes but don’t dilute their message. Like the glorious look into the power of saying “no homo” in “No Homo”, or the informative lesson on what it means to be cunty in “Cuntology 101”.

The world is at a place where everything’s going to shit. No matter where you look, something happens that’s rage-inducing, and there needs to be a way to express that anger and exasperation. Lambrini Girls provide that in abundance. Who Let The Dogs Out is an album that harnesses that intensity and converts it into anthems that throw much-needed middle fingers at all directions. It’s heavy on everything, yet flies by. I’ve not witnessed vocals as consistently passionate as they are here. They’re constantly pushed to the edge, and do a great job keeping up with the pace of the instrumentals while also being informative and direct.

A couple weeks in and we’ve already got our first contender for album of the year. Who Let The Dogs Out is great. Lambrini Girls have really set the tone that others will struggle to match.
