Le Junk – ‘Same Old Things’ / new single

With news of a debut EP titled Hush coming in September, London multi-instrumentalist Le Junk stomps into view with ‘Same Old Things’. As summer seems to be missing the mark in providing the sunshine lately, this song will provide all the good vibes you require.

Written about the joyous journey of self-denial and the sheer weight of toxic relationships, ‘Same Old Things’ defies these topics by giving a defiant performance. Its instrumental is built up of tight-wrapped rhythms and melodies, providing the foundation for the basslines to strut their stuff. Shimon Joseph’s vocals ease into the spotlight as they slip between the snap of the drums, laying down hypnotic harmonies that’ll leave you hooked.

Easily one of the catchiest songs of the summer, Le Junk has delivered a song that’s very hard to remove from your brain. ‘Same Old Things’ is gutsy, glitzy and effortlessly cool. Musically it rightly takes all plaudits, but it’s the vulnerability amongst the lyrics that’ll keep you coming back for me. This is a great way to kickstart the momentum towards Hush.
