Maejis Mind – At Water / EP Review

Experimental artist Maejis Mind has unveiled his immersive new EP At Water. The three-track offering is a heavenly collection of floating tracks that will transport the listener to an underwater world.

Inspiration from a variety of artists can be heard in the EP, from Pink Floyd to Radiohead and Beach House to Bowie.

Kicking off with ‘Watch The Rain’, the EP offers up a bubbling soundscape filled with meditative reverberations and enriching vocals. The concept project is further carried by ‘There Was A Time’, the second track on the EP is still calming but flaunts indulgent guitar shreds.

I first started writing these songs in February 2022, and it has been a joy to put these songs together. Overall, it’s my most honest work yet and I’m happy that I was able to experiment with different styles and production techniques,” – Maejis Mind shares.

The EP closes with two-part track ‘Face On The Water/Empty Room’. The final song encompasses both sides to Maejis Mind, as delicate acoustic musicality meets hypnotising and atmospheric instrumentals. It’s definitely got a strong Pink Floyd meets Sufjan Stevens vibe.
