Teenage singer-songwriter Megan Wyn’s latest track ‘Are You Bored Yet?’, dropping on the 2nd of February, is perhaps her best work to date.
The singer, originally from Anglesey in North Wales and now living in Manchester, began performing at gigs and festivals at the age of 16.
Her latest release, ‘Are You Bored Yet?’, features a sustained, cheerful guitar melody throughout, intertwined with the songwriter’s powerful, assured vocals. Reminiscent of a young Stevie Nicks, Wyn’s lyrics are relatable, yet personal.
The dreamy, indie pop-rock feel of the song makes it feel as though it would fit perfectly into the soundtrack of an indie movie, with the tune having a distinctly nostalgic feel.
Thematically, the song describes a previous lover, and the singer questions herself and her feelings – ‘Stuck in a daze another minute on hold / I replay our memories in my head’.
Her previous work includes songs such as ‘You Don’t Get It’ and ‘Familiar Faces’, which she penned with Alex Quinn. Quinn has worked with artists such as The Royston Club and The Lottery Winners.
Megan will be performing at GorillaFest in Mexborough on the 3rd of February, Coastal Crawl in North Shields on the 17th of February, and Kendal Calling in August.
