PLASMAS, a 5-piece dreampop band from Dundee, Scotland, are back with a new single ‘Always’. The song was recorded back in August, but it took a while to put it out. Now it’s here, and it’s a hit!
PLASMAS’ sound is influenced by synthpop, shoegaze, and psychedelia. The great range of musical interests and inspiration are combined in their music, making it sound very unique.
‘Always’ is a dreamy but uplifting song. It’s kind of indie-pop but a little bit darker.
Writing the songs was going smoothly. “This is one of the few times when everything just fell into place effortlessly”, says lead vocalist Ross McQueen. “I think the lyrics really reflect that kind of naive optimism where you know things won’t last forever but you’re fully committed to enjoying them while they last.”
This ‘naive optimism’ is reflected in the lyrics as well as the sound. The song is filled with bouncy guitar sounds, some nice reverb and delays, catchy synths, and great drums. It’s a feel-good song. “We’re dancing circles to the sound” is what they sing. And the song invites you to actually do it. It’s a celebration of the good times. So let’s enjoy them while they last!
With ‘Always’ PLASMAS have created an atmospheric track that makes you curious to hear more from them.
