PTRNS release new single ‘At Least For Tonight’ // Review

Following last year’s ‘Magnolia’ comes a new single from PTRNS. ‘At Least For Tonight’ marks a new chapter for the Leeds band. Written about the reckless freedom of a one night stand, and all of the emotions that come with it, this new tune showcases the funkier side of their sound, and the results are excellent.

Filling the ears with thumping bass and catchy beats, the single immediately transports you into the club. I’d probably be hiding in the corner, nursing the same Rum & Coke for the night, but PTRNS lead you to the dancefloor. The sheer amount of noise they conjure up makes it easy to fall into the flow of it all. Highlighting the notion of enjoying the moment, and not thinking of going home. The vocals do a great job of documenting the night, showing how much urges and instincts take over and leave rationality out of the mind. Instrumentally, guitars collide against drums to deliver a strong rhythm. One that aims for the hips with its playful and energetic performance.

‘At Least For Tonight’ is one of the catchiest songs we’ve heard this year. Its ability to set the tone and the ease in which it falls into the ears is crazy. It’s definitely a jam, and one I could replay over and over. It’s fitting climax features an excellent guitar solo, really making sure it documents just how good of a night this was. PTRNS have certainly landed on our radar, hopefully they have made it on yours too.
