Pure Reason Revolution reunite with Chloë Alper for The Dark Third 20th anniversary shows

Pure Reason Revolution, the British rock group that first came together at the University of Westminster in 2003, are known for their distinctive blend of progressive rock and electronic music. Their latest album, Coming Up to Consciousness, dropped just last year, further cementing their reputation for genre-defying soundscapes. While they were originally slated to play a pair of UK headline shows this September, the band has recently announced that these dates have been postponed to early 2026. But don’t be too disappointed – there’s an exciting reason behind the delay.

Originally planned as standard headline shows, the gigs have been upgraded to something truly special: a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the band’s acclaimed debut album, The Dark Third. The milestone performances will take place at Manchester Club Academy on Friday 13th February 2026, and at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on Sunday 15th February 2026.

The band’s first full-length release, The Dark Third, remains a cornerstone of their discography, featuring some of Pure Reason Revolution’s most beloved tracks, including ‘The Bright Ambassadors of Morning’, ‘He Tried to Show Them Magic’, and ‘The Intention Craft’. Produced by the renowned Paul Northfield – known for his work with Rush, Porcupine Tree, Gentle Giant, and Hole – the album was recorded at both Fairhazel Studios and the legendary RAK Studios.

Adding to the excitement, the band have confirmed that founding member Chloë Alper will be rejoining them for these special shows. A core part of Pure Reason Revolution’s early sound, Chloë stepped away from the band following the release of their fifth album, Above Cirrus, in 2022. Currently a member of indie rock band James, she contributed additional vocal arrangements to their 2024 studio album Yummy, which soared to No. 1 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart Top 100. Her return promises to make these anniversary performances even more memorable.

Tickets for the shows are available here.
