Liverpool’s Red Rum Club are a band who simply ooze talent. Since the release of their debut album in 2019, the group have made a name for themselves off the back of their fantastic compositional skills and huge atmospheric live shows.
Fortunately for us, the six-piece have dropped a brand-new single titled ‘Hole in My Home’ ahead of their upcoming album.
Their latest offering comes in true Red Rum Club style. Cinematic, jilty, and upbeat instrumentation elevated by a brass section and Doran’s signature vocal style which pulls the listener in. The track’s cinematic and sunny soundscape is nicely juxtaposed with some deeply introspective lyricism, packed with emotion and sentiment.
On the single, frontman Francis Doran commented: “’Hole In My Home’ provides a story of love and loss. An up-tempo soundtrack that descends into a wailing, melancholic chorus that really tugs at the heartstrings. It’s our most honest and heartfelt release to date and we feel it really showcases new levels of maturity in our songwriting, with more of that on offer on the album itself.”
Their latest offering follows other lead singles ‘Godless’ and ‘Undertaker’, all taken from the group’s upcoming fourth studio album Western Approaches set for release on February 23rd.
