After releasing their debut single ‘Sugar’ early 2021, Birmingham band Soul Love are back with their latest release ‘Easy’, and it’s catchy. Reading about the band they describe themselves as; 60’s beats, layered with 70’s groove and 80’s melodies, which is pretty accurate.
There were some good things to come out of the pandemic, and Soul Love was one of them. A band of three brothers, which draw similar comparisons to the Bee Gees. Listening to ‘Easy’ you immediately get that 80’s disco vibe, making me want to stick my flares and go dancing.
Opening with bright synths, choppy guitars and a drum beat to suit, you fall into an involuntary dance. The chorus is refined as lead singer Aron Bourke sings “I don’t wanna break your heart / I don’t wanna fall apart / I don’t wanna let you down / you make it too easy”. Special credit must go out to the vocals as they’re particularly impressive, so smooth.
Hopefully, we hear more from Soul Love this year, as it’s clear they have a lot to offer the music world!
