South Arcade are back with the excellent but definitely-not-googleable “HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER”. It’s their fourth release of the year and comes in the midst of what’s to be an exciting rest of the year for the band. Taking part in festival season and supporting NOAHFINNCE alongside their own headline shows.
Speaking of the track, singer Harmony Cavelle said, “HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER quickly came to life after I binge-watched the 2000’s series Dexter – a show surrounding a vigilante serial killer who punishes those who he believes deserve it. The song drew inspiration from the extreme gruesome nature of the show.”
As much as we’d like to forget about how Dexter ended (both times), this new single offers nothing but cinematic goodness. Kicking off with an intro that already aims for the jaw, South Arcade waste little time in filling the ears with gritty riffs and thunderous drums. It is straight up, balls to the wall anger and one that’ll certainly go down well with crowds.
We’ve been digging South Arcade since “Nepo Baby” was released back in February, and they continue to knock it out of the park. “HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER” is another heavy tune that’s a lot of fun to listen to, making us hope that this leads to an EP or album in the near future. If you haven’t already, now’s definitely the time to jump onboard the South Arcade train.
