Manchester band The Bad Wires released their second single last Friday.
‘Leading Man’ continues from where they left off on debut single ‘Wisecracks‘. Wearing their influences on their sleeves, this release showcases their ability to blend various musical influences into a cohesive and engaging sound.
With fuzzy guitar riffs and beautiful distorted vocals from frontman Danny, this track encapsulates elements of blues, punk, and a touch of cinematic flair. Think Black Rebel Motorcycle Club jamming with The White Stripes. It’s also unmistakably Mancunian.
It’s a track that will continue to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with. With their uncanny ability to merge different genres, while at the same time maintaining their own individuality, hearing these tunes live is something I’m looking forward to.
Speaking of live, The Bad Wires headline Off The Square in Manchester on September 20th. Having seeing these guys before, I’m certainly looking forward to the next instalment.
‘Leading Man’ is available to stream now.
