Work In TV – “The Good Life” // New Single

“The Good Life” is the new single from Work In TV. Their first single since releasing the Better Hours EP back in April. Written about struggling with mental health in an increasingly demanding world, with a nice slice of burnout looming over our heads, this song embraces the notion of misery loves company. Life might suck, but at least we all know this, together.

Taking influence from the likes of Talking Heads and Yard Act, “The Good Life” channels its looming burnout through the medium of dance. Its off-kilter guitars fill the room with textured grit. Colliding nicely against booming bass notes and happier-than-ever harmonies that really drive the sarcasm home. Its drums add some snap to the mix, and all of a sudden you’ve got yourself an earworm.

It is effortlessly catchy and blooms into an infectious jam. Not only is it groovy, it’s also quite heavy. Bringing a post-punk attitude to it that would make The Strokes and LCD Soundsystem proud. Work In TV have really captured the spirit of taking that first breath after you give up, and have created a song that illustrates that feeling wonderfully.

“The Good Life” features on our new Dead Good Indie Music playlist, which you can check out here.
