You Me At Six live in Temple Newsam Park, Leeds – 10 YEARS OF SIN / Gig Showcase

YOU ME AT SIX kicked of their first of two anniversary shows in Leeds on Wednesday night in celebration of their third album Sinners Never Sleep as it’s been 10 years since its release.

They played the album in it’s entirety which was hugely satisfying and nostalgic. You went on a flying journey from first track, guitar-driven ‘Loverboy’ to the intense somber final track, ‘When We Were Younger’ which lead-singer Josh Franceschi introduced it with some words of his own; the track is about realising that parents aren’t superheroes, they’re just like us. Towards the end of the song he got emotional, hiding his face with his hands in which bassist Max Helyer went over to see if he’s okay  – whether it was the track, being the end of a big show and overwhelmed with their success, who knows – it really grabbed your heart!

The band have always been incredible in all aspects – but they’ve never sounded better. They’ve crafted an unreal live show. Frontman Josh has soared with his confidence; his energy and stage presence was the best I’ve seen from him with matching sonic vocals.

They came back with an encore including recent single ‘SUCKAPUNCH’, fan-favourite ‘The Swarm’ and huge hit ‘Underdog’ – the atmosphere as always was electric! If you’ve been a fan for a long time, this part in particular felt really special. It was a must-see gig for any You Me At Six fan.
