Teleforme return with ‘Hold Your Head’. Their newest single follows on from June’s ‘Tired’ and looks to offer more of what to expect from the Thames Delta act. Having emerged last year, they’ve quickly become ones to watch from the post-punk genre. They’ve even got a headline show in Paris coming up – that’s mad.
Written about the inevitability of change, ‘Hold Your Head’ is a song that urges you to just go for it. Show that fear who’s boss. Right to its face. Instrumentally steeped in darkness, it illustrates the hesitation that comes with moving forward, but with huge walls of guitars providing the necessary push, it’s easy to get through to glory. Lyrics tackling the realisation of potentially losing it all collide with the riffs to bring about this unreal sense of tension to the track, which overwhelms the airwaves before dissipating into an optimistic close that sounds free of all worry.
It highlights solid progression in a song that offers a lot in its short time. ‘Hold Your Head’ is a great song from Teleforme, one that caps off what has been a modest but strong year for them. With a big show set to kick off their 2023, here’s hoping that start leads to a whole string of releases.
