Balancing Act – ‘Rabbit Hole’ / New Single

Your favourite emerging indie-rock quartet Balancing Act have released a brand new single titled ‘Rabbit Hole’.

Formed in London, the foursome dropped their debut EP last year and have gained steady momentum, building a name for themselves and solidifying their position as the next big thing on the scene.

Their latest offering demonstrates a progression in sound, following their last single ‘Before I Shoot’, the new single delves deeper into a fresh sonic route that is more cinematic than previous releases.

Vocalist Kai Roberts revealed:

“We loved producing this because it’s the first time we really had to battle with a song. The place it ended up is so far from where it started and we’re so happy about that. It became the next single because we’re very passionate about pushing our boundaries on what we can achieve as a band.

“It has this pop feel to it but ultimately is pushed by its alternative noir layers and textures, on which we had spent hours perfecting. There was a point where we felt really disconnected and down about the song, but with time, we really fell on something stunning.”

A deep bass line, introspective lyricism and layers of sound work in tandem with Roberts’ emotive, charming crooning vocals to create depth and soul throughout the listening experience.

The polished production of the track shines through, produced by Richard Woodcraft who has worked with the band previously as well as big names like Radiohead and Paolo Nutini.

Guitarist Jackson Couzens said: “He’s a bit of a wizard in the studio, he always has a new sound or a weird technique up his sleeve to make the process exciting. It’s always such a pleasure working with him.

“We wanted to showcase another side to our writing with ‘Rabbit Hole’. ‘Before I Shoot’ felt polished and mature and we wanted to dive deeper into that territory. We explored some different sounds and grooves which excited us and took the track somewhere new while still having something familiar that makes it Balancing Act.”

Balancing Act are breathing new life into the genre and broadening the horizons of their own unique sound, making them stand out in an oversaturated scene.

We will be keeping our eyes and ears peeled and look forward to seeing what these lads do next.
