Bruno Hibombo – ‘Blue Illustrations’ / New Single

Having recently released his new art-rock offering ‘Parting Words’, we delve deep into Bruno Hibombo’s captivating focus track for the album, ‘Blue Illustrations’. The second track in the collection highlights Hibombo’s flair for atmospheric storytelling.

Featuring poetic spoken word interludes, brooding bass and twisting guitar melodies, ‘Blue Illustrations’ has a transcendent soundscape that perfectly sets the tone for it’s thoughtful themes.

Hibombo explains:

“Lyrically, ‘Blue Illustrations’ is an exploration of disillusionment, detachment, and youth told through the lens of a narrator who recalls a series of fleeting moments involving a pensive friend. I wrote it with night-time Lisbon in mind. As with the rest of the album, the narrative and characters are fictional. The track is sonically vibrant and musically direct – a combination I hadn’t explored much in my other albums.”

Fusing together 60s psychedelia with vocals reminiscent of both Eddie Vedder and Jeff Buckley, this trippy track conveys eerie Twin Peaks-esque vibes, as if it was conceived in the Roadhouse itself.
