Carter Fox – ‘Cosmic Sunrise’ / New Single

Philadelphia-based bassist/producer Carter Fox bestows another auditory celestial gift with his newest chill-fi space beat, “Cosmic Sunrise“. Following a minor breakout with his 2021 Minecraft homage album Cartercraft, Fox collaborated with synth player Steve Honz on the Astronomical EP, released this past March. “Cosmic Sunrise” sees that partnership flourish, while also serving as a companion piece to “Cosmic Sunset,” released via Acrylic Label’s Pomodoro Step compilation.

Known for making music that would be comfortably at home on YouTube’s “lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax/study to,” Fox’s approach on “Cosmic Sunrise” is easygoing: the drum rhythm bobs, the buzzing guitar melodies drift, and the synthesizers warmly glow: all of these elements melding together effortlessly to form a radiant watercolor landscape that bathes the listener in soft, comforting light.

Fox on “Cosmic Sunrise”: “Cosmic Sunrise is a chill song meant to relax as much as inspire one to look up to the stars and dream. It features Steve Honz on a beautiful synth solo that represents seeing a star rise from behind a distant planet while you observe and enjoy the show. I hope you enjoy the groove!”

Adhering to a double-meaning of the word “stellar,” “Cosmic Sunrise” presents a strong case for Fox and Honz to continue to explore the galaxies together well into the future. Space is indeed boundless, after all.
