From Jacksonville Florida, Dancing with Ghosts are an Alt-Rock Band formed by Josh Cannon (guitar/vocals) and Stephanie Conner (lead vocals) in 2014. Their latest single, The Audacity is set to be released on August 5th and is the perfect pop-rock anthem.
Conner posted a short clip of the single to the band’s Instagram page saying she took some “vocal risks” with their latest song, and it has paid off. The Audacity has the perfect blend of big belts, and pop hooks with some fine-tuned grit. The bridge carries us perfectly to each explosive chorus and you can already hear the audience singing it back.
They’ve taken to a purer rock sound than their previous singles. Their most listened-to single, Obsidian Blood, has a more electronic feel to it with heavier breakdowns. It certainly seems like their sound is still evolving and this new release proves the band are not a one-trick pony. It’s tightly produced, and they sound like a truly established rock quartet that could be heard on any Kerrang! playlist.
The production quality is nothing short of brilliant considering the band have a “do-it-yourself” approach, they self-produce their songs and all their music videos. The Audacity has bundles of attitude and fun.
