Enfers – ‘Waiting Rooms’ / New Single

With their debut EP Come When They Call Labour set for release in September, Enfers return with new single ‘Waiting Rooms’. The third single from the Leeds four-piece looks set to continue building the buzz for the upcoming EP as it strives to redefine the guitar-based model into something much grander and all encompassing. All I can say is that I wish for it to encompass me forever.

While it has all the ingredients to create a straight forward Indie tune, ‘Waiting Rooms’ also comes with a serious amount of ambition that makes it so much more than that. It aims to move mountains as well as hips, coming with a fair shake of hooks and a serious lasting impression on the ears. Gorgeous guitars release chords that add a summery touch to the airwaves. Backed with a drum beat that delivers rhythm in amongst its simplicity, and the vocals flow between these layers of sound with a graceful soar.

There is less energy compared to past singles, but the additional space allows the song to build naturally. This means the verses do not need to rush and can focus on ensuring as much upbeat vibes as possible are made. The chorus is able to peak organically, making for a real satisfying listen. It’s wonderful and a classic song for the summer. I cannot wait to hear what Enfers bring to the ears with their upcoming EP.
