Reminding us once again of the sheer force of women in rock music, feisty four-piece ĠENN have returned with their new irresistible single ‘Catalyst’. Packing a punch with fuzzing guitars, soaring vocals and a powerful rhythm, the track’s anthemic nature will have you listening again and again… and again.
‘Catalyst’ first appeared on ĠENN’s debut EP Liminal which was released in March 2021. The EP showed off ĠENN’s impressive range, featuring the hypnotic and bluesy opening track ‘Feel’, the funk-inflected ‘Mackerel’s Funky Mission’ and the swinging upbeat closing track ‘Feel Good’
Drawing their raw sound from a mixture of garage rock and riot grrrl punk, ĠENN are reminiscent of some of our favourite rock bands such as Warpaint, Deap Vally and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Exploding onto the rock scene in 2020, ĠENN have already garnered support from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Radio X and Spotify official playlists. With a series of shows and festivals coming up across the UK this autumn for the band, we can expect to see plenty more from this unforgettable quartet.
