Welsh alt rockers The 501’s release new music – ‘Something Else‘ – this Friday (24 September) and I was lucky enough to hear a preview. It’s an absolute banger.
Recorded at the Manic Street Preachers studio this for me is their most catchy and accomplished tune to date.
Right from the off it hooks you in. From a mellow Bon Jovi like start the track builds up to a euphoric chorus which definitely has a Stereophonics like vibe.
Frontman and guitarist “Shane Grist” sings “Nothings gonna stop us now” and by the quality of this track he’s probably right.
First class vocal, first class production and first class musicianship it’s a joyous listen from a band who continue to raise the bar on every release.
Unfortunately there’s not a vinyl release this time but this tune can be enjoyed on every good streaming service from this Friday.
