After a great 2022 for The Clause with releases ‘Electric’ and ‘Forever Young’, the band are back with their first track for 2023 as they look to make a memorable mark on the year.
‘Hate the Player’ is the latest release from the boys in Birmingham, as they yet again look to showcase themselves as one of the hottest unsigned bands in guitar music today.
The track features another sumptuous riff offered up, which is a key cornerstone in all of their songs. Pearce’s vocals are once again on form for this one, with his vocal performances going from strength to strength on every track released, hearing him being a bit more playful on this one. The upbeat nature of the song is perfect, and it has a real throwback sound to it especially with the inclusion of the synths. You can easily see this track being a key player in their set moving forward.
Their live shows have been raucous affairs so far this year, and with the addition of tracks like this I can’t see that trend stopping. The band have got everything going right for them currently, as they take their time with everything they do. I see a lot of bands rush to get an EP or an album out, but The Clause are cleverly building up their catalogue with bangers before the big release, whenever that may come. 2023 will be an important year for The Clause and ‘Hate the Player’ is just the starting point.
