Kai Bosch is an alt-pop artist who’s been making strides in the industry lately with releases such as the single ‘Tulips’ and EP Spider. And now, their newest track, ‘Funny’ is out February 29th. It’s new, it’s exciting, it’s time for a breakup anthem.
‘Funny’ is an upbeat, somewhat bitter in tone, song that sounds slightly techno pop. It’s entirely unexpected and I, for one, am not complaining. With vocals that seem more influenced by rock and pop punk there are moment that feel almost like spoken word. ‘Funny’ is continuously catchy with interesting layering throughout. And throwing us a curve with the calmer break part way through, giving us a softer side. This doesn’t remove the layering of the sound’s echoing background sounds. And although the break was admittedly slightly out of place it managed to remain a fun addition.
‘Funny’ will be the preview of Bosch’s upcoming EP Love, Throw Me A Bone, which if this track is anything to go by, is something to look out for.
