Irish singer-songwriter Samuel Blaney has released his latest single, ‘Paradise’ – and has shown that he’s one to watch.
The track, which follows his enchanting debut single ‘Ember’, features sustained, delicate vocals laced over some gorgeously complex guitar melodies.
The introspective lyricism is complimented by the harmonious, gentle instrumental, with the soft, melancholic song feeling rooted in nature. The tune has an otherworldly, rural feel, with Blaney crafting a sylvan soundscape.
The song feels very personal but is easy to connect with as a listener, displaying the songwriter’s talent.
Whilst Samuel’s inspirations are unclear, with the artist keeping a low profile online, the tune feels influenced by indie-folk performers like Bon Iver, Novo Amor, and Hozier’s earlier work.
It’s fair to describe ‘Paradise’ as an undiscovered gem – Blaney, despite being in the early days of his career, clearly has vast potential, and it will be exciting to see what he releases in the future.
