The Lathums – ‘How Beautiful Life Can Be’ / New Single

Wigan’s most exciting young band make a dreamy return.

Indie fourpiece The Lathums made a joyous return last Friday with a brand new single titled ‘How Beautiful Life Can Be’. The track follows the quartets ‘Live From Sefton Park’ album which was released earlier this month chronicling their historic performance in Liverpool. The event saw the lads play alongside Zuzu and Blossoms playing to 5,000 people in a government research pilot event for the safe return of live music.

The quartet are staying positive despite the cancellation of Kendal Calling and Truck Festival, both of which they were set to play this summer. The upbeat guitar pop track is a celebration of bumblebees, toast and sunshine; the lads are appreciating the little things in life in this two-and-a-half-minute slice of summery optimism, and it sounds brilliant.

Singer Alex Moore commented: “Our saddest and loneliest moments can lead to our happiest and most content, because we have felt what it is to be down there looking up. It feels like now is the time to appreciate all of the things, big and small, that we’ve missed the most.”

The Lathums are set to embark on a massive UK tour this autumn / winter, keen to return to live music the band are a renowned force, having taken the live scene by storm with sell-out tours, support slots and festival appearances since starting out in 2019.
